Digestion

Mr. Kern and Mr. S. taught us many cool things about digestion. First digestion starts by us eating food. Your teeth chew the food into little pieces. Your tongue pushes the food into your stomach. The throat has muscles that push the food down into your stomach. The food stays in your stomach for 4 hours. The food goes into your small intestine. The process of the food to get through your small intestine takes 12 hours. The nutrients in the food soak into the small intestine. Then it goes in your large intestine. Mr. Kern and Mr. S did an experiment about how the body system works. That’s how the digestive system works.
